It's estimated 49 million Americans suffer from dry eye, about one in every four people in America. Dry eyes can cause vision fluctuation, sandy/gritty feeling, heavy eyelids, tired eyes, burning sensation, over tearing and much more that negatively impact people's quality of life. Dr. Chu will assess your tear film to determine which layer of the tear film is deficient and provide the most accurate and effective treatment. We have the latest technology of utilizing Optilight IPL and Radio Frequency to most effectively treat meibomian gland dysfunction related dry eye which counts for 86% of dry eye disease.
Specialty Contact Lenses
Specialty contact lenses are designed to help patients achieve optimal vision and comfort when most convention soft contact lens or glasses are unable to. We specialize in fitting Gas Permeable Lens, Hybrid Lens, Scleral lens and Orthokeratology lens.
Myopia Management
As our culture becomes more digitalized, our children are more likely to become nearsighted (myopic). Children are developing myopia at a younger age and progressing myopia at a faster rate. Being more near-sighted means higher risks of retinal detachment, glaucoma, macular degeneration and other psychosocial issues. Our goal is to manage myopia from progression and prevent ocular pathologies it is complicated with. Dr. Chu will select the appropriate myopia management based on the examination and individual needs of the patient.
Ocular Disease Management
Whether you suffer from an ocular disease or concerned about a risk because of a family member, we can manage and treat. Dr. Chu and Dr. Solan specialize in treating and managing glaucoma, ocular surface disease, cataract, vitreous floaters, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. We also work with retinal and optic nerve specialist to comanage patient's care.
NeuroVision Testing
In addition to vision testing, we perform NeuroVisual examination. This includes several tests to evaluate depth perception, color vision, eye muscle strength, peripheral vision, and responsiveness to light. Several other tests are completed to determine whether the eyes are focusing, moving, and working together properly. The test results enable Dr. Chu to diagnose any underlying conditions that may be impairing the eyes' ability to focus or work together.
